Chai Masala | Indian Tea Mix | Homemade Tea Masala - Taste of Morning Indian Tea



Masala Chai!!! Chai is first thing which is first need after woke up to energies body and mind with extravagant aroma of Indian Spice Blend with Tea and Milk. In India widely everyone have their own Chai Masala Recipe and quantity measurement. In India to start morning with Tea, To offer Tea to guest and more beautiful is Tea become medium for people gatherings. Simply I will say Day begins with Tea and Day ends with Tea. " Bina Chai Ka Din Nahi".


Chai Masala recipe is variant as per different geographical condition and situation. Major ingredients are common, few are different as per people's own taste and requirement.

In Ayurveda many remedies are there which can be include in Chai Masala Recipe. According to Ayurveda few herbs are very beneficial to have in morning in form of tea, such as PipraMul(Ganthoda),Tulsi(Indian Basil),Mint,Fresh Ginger(Helps to fight for acidity during morning),Dry ginger(Helps to cure dry cough, cure acidity),Fennel Seeds(Regulating Bowel system, Cure acidity, reduce effect of TEA caffeine).

Indian Tea is not only extract of TEA, It is aromatic mixture of Indian Spices, Tea, Sugar and yes "Creamy Milk". 

Though, I am not very much addicted with Tea or Coffee but when I love to drink Tea, Chai Masala must be there in my cup of Tea. I have learned this Chai Masala recipe from my grandmother. I have stomach gas problems, to cure and heal my immune system my grandmother used to give me "Pipramul Powder" with milk during morning. after that she started to add in Chai Masala. 

As per my grandmother's method, never blend high volume quantity of Chai Masala. Chai masala give nice strong aroma till it is fresh around 1 month not more than that. gradually it starts to loss aroma of spices and effect of its own benefits. 

I and my grandmother used to have Masala Chai during evening with some freshly grated ginger, Freshly plucked & minced mint leaves from my kitchen garden, with little amount of Chai Masala touch to our Chai.

Masala Chai gives more warmth during cool winter morning and monsoon evening. None of company made Tea Masala can take place of Homemade Tea/Chai Masala.

Now let me share recipe of Chai Masala by  my lovely grandmother's and some addition by me. Try with mentioned proportion of ingredients and let us know how it is!!!!

Tea/Chai Masala is not only taste enhancer but it is full box of Ayurvedic Remedies 

  1. Cinnamon : Long brown stick looks like tree skin, but that helps to reduce extra fat of body, control blood sugar and reduce the heart diseases risk. also cinnamon have anti-inflammatory property.
  2. Green Cardamom: Small, tiny green buds with ocean of cool aroma, which can feel till long distance, green cardamom is best to control acidity during morning, also control blood pressure level. Green cardamom has regulatory property to cure regulate bowel system.
  3. Pipramul (Ganthoda): Best remedies to solve gastric problems and boost immune system.
  4. Saffron: An expensive threads....with extraordinary benefits.. saffron helps to treat mental disorders such is mood swings, stress reduction,depression. cancer fighter, 1 thread has aroma ocean.
  5. White Pepper: Regulates cardio vascular system, weight control because it contains "Capsaicin" which helps to burn fat in body and yes of course it is key spice of my grandma's spice box as it cures "Eyesight".
  6. Black Pepper: Regulates digestive property, reduce gastric problems, best to treat coughing and cold. Again it is highly recommend to treat depression and other mental diseases.  
  7. Fennel Seeds: helps in breast milk production ( post pregnancy benefit), helps to reduce acidity, regulates bowel system and many more benefits.
  8. Dry Ginger: Weight reduction, reduce morning sickness,nausea, acidity, prevents from cold,coughing, reduce menstrual pain.
  9. Dry Rose Petals: Health and beauty booster, reduce stress and overthinking, cures sore throat.

Chai Masala Main Ingredients

25 gm Dry Ginger (Whole)

15 gm Pipra Mul (Ganthoda)

15 gm Cardamom(Whole)

5 gm Cinnamon 

5 gm Cloves

5 gm Black Pepper

5 gm White Pepper

5 gm Fennel Seeds

1 Nut Mag 

8 to 9 strings - Saffron

METHOD 


1. Let's turn on the gas, take small pan, first for 3 to 4 minutes on low medium flame, roast black pepper, white pepper, pipramul, dry ginger small pieces and all other mentioned spices except saffron and dry rose petals. 

2. Blend all spices(including saffron and dry rose petals) together into powder form, saive slowly, do not over grind which burns nutrition of all spices. 

3. Prepare glass jar to store Spice Mixture, do not press masala Powder into jar. Lid of jar must be air tight. 

4. Tea Masala mix ideal self life is - 1 month for strong and original aroma. 


How to use Tea masala?

Preparing Spice blend for Tea is not only enough task, How to make aromatic Masala that is another skill. Here I am sharing my own method, what else can be add into tea. 

Ingridents For Masala Tea

1 cup Milk

1/4 cup water

1/2 inch grated ginger

1 TSP Tea

1 TSP Sugar

3 to 4 leaves of mint 

1/4 TSP Tea masala powder. 

Method
1. As per usual tea preparing method, add 1 cup fresh cream milk and water, let have nice boil, add ginger, mint, tea Masala, tea and sugar. 

2. Let the tea get nice boil. 

3. Ok...Tea is ready with freshly homemade Tea masala. Serve with tea snacks, or biscuits.
